The Day in the Life of a Hireology Intern

Since starting my internship at Hireology I have learned so much about what it’s like to work in a startup that values teamwork and the success of the company. The atmosphere at Hireology is laid back; however, everyone works very hard to meet their person

al daily goals. Every morning we have a daily meeting to start the day. Everyone says what they wante

d to accomplish the day before and what they want to accomplish that day. Some days everyone also kel_(2)says who and what they’re proud of from the current week. Many of the employees will say that everyone at Hireology works hard but plays hard too. Essentially, the culture is relaxed in that everyone is attentive and helpful to each other, but also very driven.

I have been an intern for a little over a month now, and have certain tasks that I am expected to complete. My main task is to help with job board postings. I feel that through working with such sites I have become so much more aware of all of the different job boards out there and how to utilize them to their fullest potential.

In addition to posting jobs, I accompany our HR Coordinator on phone and in-person interviews. It’s really interesting to see first-hand how Hireology’s hiring platform is put to use in the interviewing process and what goes into each step of the hiring process. I feel that the things I’ve learned and noticed throughout the interview process will help me in the future when I apply for full-time jobs. I now have a better understanding of what employers look for in their potential employees while predicting future success.

Outside of my office hours at Hireology, I am working on data analysis of archived data that Hireology has given me. Using this data I am testing the validity of the constructs that Hireology uses in their platform to predict job performance. It is very interesting to see how different variables predict job performance amongst job candidates. My experience as an intern has been nothing but positive and useful, and I am excited to see what else I still have to learn during my time here!

Erin is the Director of Marketing, Crisis Controller and Culture Ambassador (the last two titles she gave to herself) who joined the Hireology team in April of 2012. As a certified Inbound Marketer, Erin manages Hireology's marketing department, the Hireology Blog, and media relations.
