Posted by Natalie Pike on June 6, 2015

With the school year coming to an end, it's the most popular time for hiring managers to recruit college graduates to fill their offices. HR professionals tend to think they know everything it takes to get this Generation Y group through the door, but that's not always the case. We all know how important it is to bring millennials on to the team. If you're unsure of how much they'll impact the workforce in the future, let me shine some light on the topic for you.

Millennial Statistics

  • The Census Bureau projects that the Millennial population was 74.8 million in 2014. By 2015 Millennials will increase in size to 75.3 million and become the biggest group.
  • With immigration adding more numbers to its group than any other, the Millennial population is projected to peak in 2036 at 81.1 million. Thereafter the oldest Millennial will be at least 56 years of age and mortality is projected to outweigh net immigration.
  • By 2050 there will be a projected 79.2 million Millennials.

Sold? I sure hope so. Now, it's time to figure out if your current hiring process is the right one or if it's time to revamp in order to recruit this highly sought-after bunch. Take this short, five-question, quiz and find out if you know how to hire millennials!
