Hiring Bits of Gold

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner a little bit of luck is in the air. Do you feel it? When the day comes don’t look too hard for that pot of gold because it just might be sitting in the office. Employees are like bits of gold and together they compose the giant bucket of gold. With the holiday approaching it’s important to keep in mind how to find more bits of gold because lets be honest, who doesn’t want the biggest pot of gold?

When mining for gold it takes a lot of time and effort to sort through the rocks and sand just to find a small glimpse of gold on the bottom. Sounds just like hiring doesn't it? Through all the piles of resumes there is always going to be a golden candidate, it just takes a little bit of luck to find them. 9834235_s

Mining Through Candidates

The process of hiring can become exhausting. Going through pile after pile of resumes trying to find the perfect employee is not the easiest task. Instead of getting your hands dirty by manually sifting through all the rocks it is more efficient to use a system that does the sorting for you. Instead of going through dirt with their hands miners use systems to find gold, so why not apply that to hiring? With a hiring system it becomes a lot easier to see right away whether or not a candidate is a good fit. After sorting through the resumes, elimination is a breeze. A system allows you to go through candidates and get rid of those who don't shine. When all of this is done a glimpse of gold should be shining through the pile. 

Is this Real Gold?

An old practice of figuring out whether or not gold is real is just simply by biting down on it. Well unfortunately it's not that simple with candidates. It's probably not the best idea to bite each one as they come through the door. Instead, use specific interviewing questions as well as interviewing scorecards to decide which candidates best fit your expectations. In other words, which candidates are real gold or just appear to be.

The Luck of the Employer

Viewing your employees as little bits of gold that together create a bucket of gold is a good way to feel confident in your company. Each employee was hand picked to join the team, which makes them just as valuable as gold. Employees who feel valued work harder to prove their importance.
