Recruiting Tips for Franchise Owners

Are you a new franchise owner and looking to add on to your team but you don’t know where to start? You’re not the only one. Being a new franchise owner is stressful enough especially knowing that the turnover rate for employees is high. Utilize your Resources – Take the time to get with your team members and other franchise owners to gain insight on what has worked for them and if they have any advice to pass on. Ask them for advice on what job boards were effective, how to write job descriptions or if there are standard job descriptions available and what other tools they have used. Resources are there for a reason so take advantage of using them.

Social Media – With social media continuing to grow, it is wise to post your employment opportunities on your business social media sites like Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. According to Mediabistro.com, there were 187 million monthly active users on LinkedIn by June 2014 and are continuing to grow. Have your social media sites stand out so you can gain more followers. Share things such as company pictures, events and news to show potential candidates that your business is a fun and enjoyable place to work. Show interest in other things besides your company by liking, re-tweeting or following other companies.
