I love trade shows. There’s nothing like the smell of bad convention coffee, paisley carpeting (for your enjoyment: a picture below...), and desperation for leads. Hey, I’m completely serious! We talk to the greatest people at trade shows and walk away with so many hot leads that we don’t sleep for weeks.
Anyways, Hireology is at HRMAC’s SUMMIT 2012 in Rosemont Illinois today; which is pretty much our backyard considering it took us about 20 minutes to drive from our River North office. Unfortunately instead of staying in a hotel last night we had to get up at 4am to haul our exhibit into the conference. Needless to say, we are a tired bunch of Hireologists this morning. Bring on that bad coffee!
We just became members of Human Resources Management Association of Chicago and we are pretty excited to see what it’s all about. HRMAC is the oldest most established HR association in Chicago and has over 800 members from companies like United Airlines to MLB’s Chicago Cubs.
Right now the attendees are in their first session and will be swarming us shortly looking for door prize stamps and tchotchkes. Little do they know they will be walking away with knowledge of the best selection management platform on the planet!
Hireology has really gone all out in the trade show department this year. In June we were in Atlanta for SHRM, we attended Illinois SHRM in August, NAPEO in Arizona during October, Inc 500 conference in Phoenix, and then the HR Technology Conference in Chicago. It has been quite a journey but somehow we made it to our LAST CONFERENCE OF THE 2012 SEASON!
One day I want to produce a reality show about the drama and production of trade shows (have you read our wrap up of the HR Technology Conference?). You haven’t seen crazy until you’ve seen Day 1 at the SHRM National Conference! Unfortunately my Marketing Coordinator salary won’t even cover a camera. One day though!
Well it’s about that time to start crushing HRMAC’s SUMMIT as I can see the SPHR’s streaming out and heading straight for the donuts, I better intercept them now! If you are here, come visit us – we are at booth #7, giving away Kindles, and we are wearing the lab coats (look for smoke..)
